You’ve been chatting to someone online for a while after you signed up for an online dating site in your search for love. You’ve decided to bite the bullet and go for a first date. You’ve arranged the time and venue, and you’ve getting ready. There’s only one problem. What should you wear when you’re going on a date?
When you’re going on a date, you don’t always know what to wear.
You need to give the right impression, you don’t want to put everything on show – so to say – but you don’t want to appear like a nun.
We thought we’d have a chat to a fashion expert from the Netherlands and see what he had to say on the Dating Show. Although, we suspect he may not be a real fashion expert and he may not be from the Netherlands…

R: We are joined in the studio by Ruud from the Netherlands.
Rd: Good afternoon.
R: A fashion expert who is wearing rather a lot of leather! Nice leather trousers Ruud! Are they red, maroon or burgundy?
Rd: No, this is the blood colour. It’s the real bull’s colour because
you know I am not a vegetarian. I like to have real animal all over,
head to toe.

Rd: I'm joking of course. It's plastic!
E: Isn't it a bit hot?
Rd: Yes.
R: Ruud on a first date, should people be smart or casual?
Rd: I don't know actually.
R: Smart or casual?
Rd: Yes. On a first date, it's always difficult; you need to make a
good impression. Maybe one half smart, one half casual.
Smart on the top, casual on the bottom.

E: What clothing items do you think are real dating winners?
Rd: I think the flared trousers are coming back into fashion
definitely. Wide flares, like you are wearing. They are from the 70s
but they are coming back into fashion, flared trousers and very tight
tops. For the women anyway.
R: Should you actually go out and buy a special outfit or just stick
with what you know?
Rd: Well in your case, I think it's obvious that you need to go out and
buy a special outfit.

Rd: But in the case of this lovely lady here, you know, wear
what you are wearing. Beautiful. No problem "baby".

E: Thank you so much! Many men are a bit clueless about fashion. What
do you think the ladies like?
Rd: Well I know what the ladies like but I can't talk about this on the
radio!
